Fall 2022 Cirkus
Thursdays, October 10 through March 29
3:30 – 4:30 pm Grades 5 and up
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm Grades K – 4 (class now full for Fall 2022)
SKILLS WE LEARN
Juggling with balls, clubs, rings, scarves, and odd objects, diabolo, stilts, unicycle, clowning and physical comedy. Side effects may include: better communication skills, growing self-esteem, increased fitness and coordination, longer periods of focused activity.
Class includes circle time for a check in, a discussion of one of our Values or a positive character attribute, a warm-up, guided skill exploration and development, games, and a closing circle centered on self-reflection and self-assessment. Cirkus After School instructors are a diverse group of professionals who bring training in youth development, circus skills, and social-emotional learning into our approach.
Mission
We use skills like juggling, stilt walking, tumbling, partner acrobatics, prop manipulation and physical comedy to help youth to become stronger learners, community members, and leaders by encouraging them to express themselves creatively, challenge themselves physically, and work inventively with others.
