Regisponsoring a summer basketball program for Girls and Boys in Grades 5-8. The open gym format will include roughly 30 minutes of skill development drills followed by plenty of time to scrimmage!

This season, the Morris Memorial Youth Basketball Program will take place at the Morris Memorial for all ages.

Volunteer coaches will teach foundational basketball skills and impart basketball knowledge to boys and girls in grades 1-8. Coaches will lead practice one weekday evening and organize Saturday games in our small gymnasium at the Morris.

$60.00 per child. $50.00 for additional siblings.

The Morris Memorial provides fee assistance on a school lunch assistance basis. Email or call Morris Director, Michael West, to request fee assistance for this year’s program. (518) 392-4622.

Volunteer coaches receive 1 free registration. When registering online, please opt to “pay by check” and notify Michael West that you would like to coach. Your fee will then be waived.

We will be ordering reversible basketball jerseys for all players once registrations are all received. Most likely, our team jerseys will be provided to players after Christmas break. On sessions leading up to Christmas break, students are asked to wear athletic shoes and clothing. For game-play, coaches will make use of Morris owned, solid-colored jerseys which will be washed between each use.

****Please bring a water bottle! Our drinking fountain is out of order as a measure to keep COVID-19 from spreading.****

COVID-19 safety measures:

All players, coaches and spectators, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face mask while inside of the Morris facility. We will ask that spectators be held to a minimum.

Our building will be ventilated with windows opened and fans installed to pull air outdoors.

Any player who is not feeling well is asked to please remain at home. We will also require anyone who is placed on quarantine to remain out of our facility until the quarantine is completed.

All participants will be required to complete a COVID-19 specific hold harmless agreement for the upcoming season. This will include a season-long screening agreement.

In the event that the COVID-19 pandemic becomes too dangerous to run our program as organized, we may need to modify our program structure, or cancel our program all together. We are hopeful that this will not be the case.
